26 Jan 13 - Update #2

Here's what they look like in the sim.

Argus for FS2004/FSX: Update, 26 Jan 13

Been juggling another Argus painting project while doing this. Making a 407 Argus, 10711, flying past the Comox Glacier in 1970. I'll post an image of the painting later (have you seen my Facebook page?)

Now....back the the FS Argus!

Here's my latest update. I'm cutting out and animating the Oil Cooler Flaps. Though not 100% realistic in the way they'll operate, at least they will open with the cowl flaps. If I figure out another animation tag I'll rename the parts so the Oil Cooler flaps can remain closed while airborne. The cowl flaps should be open (depending on the temps of course) only a few degrees while aloft.  Rob

Update - 21 jan 13

Getting closer each day. I was never truly happy with the earlier engine textures. It was my fault for not properly observing the carbon grime and oil streaks and patterns. I like them now. I will offer custom grime on individual engines. You can have anything from fresh paint to "oh my GOSH!"

UPDATE - 20 Jan 13

The outer Split Fowler flap degree position indicators are now made. Naturally, because I didn't think ahead and trivialized this little item, I had to make all new wing and flap textures and re-texture all associated parts.

Getting close....still a few small issues to resolve.

Getting close to the initial release. Texturing this thing has been a real BEAR! This will be the final version and paint job. Late CAF MKII. As you can see, the texturing process is almost done. The Grey paint is correct...I borrowed a few paint chips from scrap airplanes during the destruction at the smelter in Summerside!

My tester has ported an older CP-107 version into FSX...and started dropping torps! Nice.
