My tester has ported an older CP-107 version into FSX...and started dropping torps! Nice.

Texture problems getting resolved

Tweaking a few textures. Happily have resolved several problems. Getting close!

Another Argus painting?! Yup. This time a 24" x 30" Acrylic on Hardboard. The scene is an early morning depiction of a VP415 "Swordfish" Squadron Argus Mark II, 20733, from RCAF Station Summerside tracking a submerged 'target' using smoke markers for visual reference while a Soviet "Trawler" watches from a distance.  Hope you like it.

Greetings all. Taking some time with family for the Summer. I'll get back at this project soon. This isn't a job for me. I'm keeping it fun.

10733 _trial ...

Textures progressing...this is a draft test of the LHS. Huge obstacles have recently been overcome. I know it's taking longer than I wanted to but I only have limited time these days for this. I WILL finish this initial model soon. Hope you like it.

Per Ardua!

Textures in progress...this stuff is driving me crazy!~ Your patience will be rewarded. Don't worry, the SARAH antennae are deleted already on the master model. This (initial) version represents the final configuration of the CP-107 Argus.

Click on the images for full sized screen grabs.

It's almost ready for textures now. Here's the latest set of images. See details in nose and tail stinger too. 2-D cockpit views, gauges (including the nose view) made by my friend - and former Argus Airborne Electronic Sensor Operator (AESOp) - Ron Hill.

New Argus fuselage - Update - 15 April 2012

As you can see, I'm making progress...but this stuff can warp one's mind. It's complex...so bear with me.

Update - 12 Apr 12

Here's the latest. I used a new technique for an ultra-smooth roof line and eyebrow windows over the cockpit. Patience!

More screen shots ... new Fuselage Argus for FS2004

I'm getting pretty happy with this new effort. I've struggled with this fuselage for years. It's very complicated and the tool used to make it can't easily handle such a unique project. Luckily, I used to make simulator models for a living...it helped!

So..what's first? RCAF? CAF? Mark 1 or 2?????

Canadair Argus for FS2004

So...I've decided to get back into simulation and revisit my (rather problematic to date) Argus Fuselage. Here's a screen shot from this morning's activity. This model is a BEAR which is why you've never seen anyone make a decent one yet. I've been studying this aircraft my whole life!~!

10733 - Special markings for retirement

This was the final marking scheme for 10733. This aircraft's last operational flight with VP415 was on 11 Aug 1975 with Capt Chris Squire at the yolk.

My sincere thanks to Carl Pedersen for providing the reference photo of my favorite Argus (10733) resting at the scrapper at the Saskatoon Airport.

Raw ... Wet .... POWER!

CP-107 from VP415 "Swordfish" Squadron (CFB Summerside) claws at the sky on a typically rainy night en route to an Atlantic patrol. This 18x30 inch piece would look great in your Den wouldn't it? Trouble is...it belongs to my wife!
So...isn't it time you ordered one for yourself?

Playing with Photoshop....Argus in Wet Power!

This is a screenshot from FS2004 of the Argus Mk1 I produced. It's heavily Photoshopped to depict a Wet Power take-off in the rain at night. Memories!
